According to the press release, HDT will support lossless and high-resolution audio transmission. The publication notes that this would allow ordinary Bluetooth headphones to support lossless audio.
As with the current 2.5 Mbit/s, the 7.5 Mbit/s figure is a maximum that most devices will not deliver, the publication says. The first devices supporting Bluetooth 7.0 are expected on the market in early 2027.
