**Eight hours, two operations, one stop because of a dropped part. We publish the timeline and explain why it matters more than spectacular videos.**

A developer of humanoid robots has published a report on the first full shift on a working assembly line. The robot performed two operations: carrying bins of parts and fitting fasteners.

Over eight hours there was one stop: a part slipped out of the gripper, and the line waited a minute while the robot picked it up. People worked at the neighbouring stations the whole time.

## Why a timeline beats a video

Short videos show the best take. A full shift shows reliability: how many times the robot made a mistake, how quickly it recovered and how much energy it used. Those are the numbers that decide whether a factory buys a second machine.

## Our outlook

The first humanoids in factories will do the dullest operations next to people, not instead of them. Mass deliveries will start when the cost of a robot's working hour, maintenance included, becomes comparable with a human one.
