EU-Startups has published an alphabetical list of 50 women business angels who back early-stage technology companies in Europe [1]. According to the publication, these investors contribute not only capital but also industry expertise, entrepreneurial experience and networks [1]. The part of the list available here runs from Ana Barjasic to Laura Modiano.

The list cites a 2025 report by the European Parliamentary Research Service, which identifies business angels as a major component of the EU's innovation ecosystem [1]. The publication notes that angels play an important role at the earliest funding stages, while venture capital tends to dominate discussion of startup funding [1].

## Investors and track records

The entries combine established investors, fund founders and entrepreneurs who became angels. Annegien Blokpoel of PerspeXo was named Europe's Female Angel Investor of the Year in 2024, and Cintia Mano of COREangels received the same title in 2025; Mano has personally invested in more than 30 startups [1]. Katja Ruhnke, Chair of Business Angels Deutschland, was named Germany's Business Angel of the Year in 2023 [1]. Gloria Bäuerlein of Puzzle Ventures previously made more than 25 angel investments [1].

Several entries are tied to specific deals. Andrea Sinclair was named as an investor in PeriPear's 2026 pre-seed round, and Emilie Dellecker was named among the angels in Bright Biotech's 2022 round [1]. Céline Lazorthes is credited with 2026 investments in Lucis and DermaScan [1].

## Sectors and networks

Investment focus varies across the list. Fiona Pathirana, a former NHS doctor, has backed healthcare businesses including Skin Analytics and Jude [1]. Jane Walerud, an early backer of Klarna, is co-founder and Executive Chair of climate technology company Paebbl [1]. Emilie Dellecker works in food technology through FoodHack [1].

Many of the investors also run syndicates, networks and funds: Auxxo Female Catalyst Fund (Bettine Schmitz and Gesa Miczaika), Alma Angels (Deepali Nangia), Bravva Angels (Ilinca Paun) and Lifted Ventures (Helen Oldham) [1]. Several of these focus on women-led and mixed-gender founding teams [1].
