HWASEONG, Korea — Hyundai Motor Group is co-hosting the FISITA World Mobility Summit 2026 with the International Federation of Automotive Engineering Societies (FISITA). The two-day summit is taking place Nov. 4–5 at Rolling Hills Hotel in Hwaseong, Korea.

Founded in 1948, FISITA is a global organization that brings together automotive engineering societies and industry experts to promote knowledge exchange and technological innovation in automotive engineering. It holds the World Mobility Summit every two years, bringing together executives and technology leaders from global mobility companies to discuss industry challenges and future technology directions, such as vehicle electrification.

This year’s summit is the first to be held in Korea. Chang Hwan Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of the Electrification Energy Solutions Tech Unit at Hyundai Motor Group, is the first Korean to serve as FISITA President.

On the first day, Manfred Harrer, President and Head of R&D Division at Hyundai Motor Group, delivered a keynote address introducing the Group’s electrification strategy. It encompasses battery electric vehicles (BEVs), hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs), and fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs). Harrer described the Group’s technology development roadmap for responding flexibly to market changes and customer needs.

Harrer also emphasized strengthening future vehicle development capabilities by combining engineering technology with digital capabilities and connecting the strengths of different technologies to pursue a sustainable mobility future.

Under the theme "Embracing the Complexities of Mobility," the summit is addressing key technologies and challenges facing the automotive industry, including software-defined vehicles (SDVs), autonomous driving, batteries, and energy infrastructure. Executives and technology leaders from across the global automotive industry are in attendance, sharing perspectives on key technology challenges and future development directions for the mobility industry.

Major automakers are presenting vehicle and technology exhibits during the summit. The Group is displaying the Genesis GV90 and Hyundai TUCSON, along with a battery pack, hydrogen tank, and robotics platform.
