Frankfurt-based Revolta has installed and commissioned its first sodium-ion home battery at a customer property near Aschaffenburg, Germany, according to pv-magazine.com. [1] The high-voltage system has a nominal voltage of 450 V and consists of five battery modules with a combined capacity of 10 kWh. [1] Operating data from the site is to follow.

## System configuration

Each 2 kWh module weighs 18.7 kg and has IP64 protection according to the data sheet. The installation uses an SMA inverter. [1] Each module contains three battery cells. Charge and discharge rate is 0.4 C, or a 2.5-hour power duration, so a maximum output of 4 kW can be expected in the 10 kWh configuration. [1] The published energy density is 141 Wh/l and 107 Wh/kg. [1]

The property already has about 20 kW of solar PV and a small hydroelectric plant in a former mill, which has supplied the family with electricity since 2017. According to Revolta, the owner had waited specifically for a sodium-ion home battery and named greater energy independence as the motivation. Revolta team members Julian Mattheis and Florina Thaler carried out the installation and commissioning.

## Pilot rollout and pricing

Further installations at selected customer sites across Germany are planned over the coming weeks. Revolta supplies pilot customers with an additional measuring device free of charge to collect data on how the systems perform in daily operation. The findings will feed into development of its battery management system and firmware. [1]

The company describes the installation as the start of its commercial launch, although the rollout remains at the pilot stage. [1] Its announcement did not give cycle life or efficiency figures.

Revolta lists a price of €599 ($672.5) per 2 kWh module and €2,995 for five modules, the 10 kWh set. It says it is sold out for 2026 and offers reservations for 2027. [1]
