## Key points

- Yamaha presented the NMAX E and XENTER E electric scooters at EICMA 2026.
- Both use a 7.5 kW peak eAxle with 33.3 Nm of torque.
- The 3.5 kWh battery charges from 0 to 100 % in about 5.5 hours.
- Claimed WMTC range is 104 km for the NMAX E and 108 km for the XENTER E.

Yamaha Motor showed two electric scooters in the 125cc class, the NMAX E and the XENTER E, at EICMA 2026 in Milan, after a press premiere on November 2; the company confirmed the models in a release on November 4 [1]. Both share the same powertrain, battery and charging system and fit the European A1 licence [1][2].

## NMAX E and XENTER E: eAxle and 3.5 kWh battery

Yamaha's eAxle unit produces a peak 7.5 kW at 3,500 rpm and 33.3 Nm from 500 rpm; rated power is 6.7 kW [2]. The 3.5 kWh lithium-ion pack is fixed in the frame, rated IP67 and monitored by a battery management system [3]. An 800 W on-board charger takes the pack from 0 to 100 % in about 5.5 hours on 220 V, from a household socket or a Type 2 public AC charger [3].

| Parameter | NMAX E | XENTER E |
|---|---|---|
| Range (WMTC class 1, battery at 25 °C) | 104 km | 108 km |
| Wheels | 13 in | 16 in |
| Seat height | 770 mm | 790 mm |
| Weight | 121 kg | 121 kg |

Both scooters get three riding modes, a reverse function and a 5-inch TFT display that pairs with a smartphone [2]. Yamaha has not published a top speed.

## When the Yamaha electric scooters go on sale

The NMAX E is due at European dealers from spring 2027, with the XENTER E arriving at the same time, and Yamaha's Japanese release says the NMAX E is planned for Japan in 2027 [1][2]. Official prices per market have not been announced; reports from the Milan launch cite €7,799 in Germany [2][3]. The NMAX name matters here: it is one of Yamaha's best-selling scooter lines, and this is its first battery-electric version.

## Our outlook

A fixed 3.5 kWh pack and 5.5-hour charging make these scooters a fit for daily urban commutes rather than long rides. The real test will be pricing against petrol 125s when official figures arrive.
