Pay2o, a payment service for recurring charges such as monthly tuition and membership fees, announced on the 5th a seed round of 1.7億円, The Bridge reports. [1] XTech Ventures led the round, and Mizuho Capital and Plaid subscribed to the third-party share allotment. [1]

The funds will go to hiring in sales and customer success and to expanding the product and its external API, which has been launched for SaaS providers. [1] After operating in stealth, the company plans to sign large multi-site operators and to integrate with SaaS for member management and booking. [1]

Pay2o does not handle card numbers; payers pay from a bank account using a smartphone. Fees start at 0.95% excluding tax, depending on the financial institution and transaction scale. [1] Payer accounts require passkey login, and bank authentication takes place on the bank's own page. [1]

Monthly charges, re-billing and reminders after failed payments are automated, with retries for up to 30 days. [1] The product launched in February. The company cites Japan Credit Association data: card fraud losses in 2025 were about 510億円, about 93% from stolen card numbers. [1]
