Eli Lilly published first positive results of the head-to-head phase 3 study TRANSCEND-T2D-2 on October 28, according to ad-hoc-news.de. The trial compared retatrutide with Ozempic in adults with type 2 diabetes [1]. The figures below are company-reported.

## Retatrutide vs Ozempic: A1C and weight at 80 weeks

According to Lilly, retatrutide lowered A1C by an average of 2.2 percent after 80 weeks. In the Ozempic group the reduction was 1.8 percent [1].

Participants taking retatrutide lost an average of 44–47 pounds. In the comparator group the average loss was 21 pounds [1]. Lilly thus reports both a stronger A1C reduction and a larger weight loss than with Ozempic. The source material gives no data on adverse events.

On Thursday, Lilly also announced presentations on retatrutide, Taltz and Zepbound at the American College of Rheumatology congress, held November 6–11. The announced contributions include phase 3 results on knee pain and weight in knee osteoarthritis with obesity, and phase 3b data on psoriatic arthritis in patients who also have obesity [1].

## Corporate changes and dividend

Lilly is also changing its organization. According to media reports, on Monday the company merged its US and international commercial units under Lilly Global Markets [1].

Per the company announcement of October 27, Ilya Yuffa will lead the new division from January 1, 2027. Patrik Jonsson will retire at the end of 2026 [1].

For the fourth quarter of 2026, Lilly declared a dividend of $1.73 per share. Payment is scheduled for December 10, and the record date for shareholders is November 13 [1].
