Hyundai Motor Group presented a modular 5-megawatt-class electrolyzer system, a hydrogen refueling robot and fuel cells with improved durability at World Hydrogen Expo 2026, Interesting Engineering reports. The exhibition opened on November 4 at KINTEX in Goyang, South Korea, and runs through November 6. [1] It is organized through Hyundai's HTWO hydrogen brand and business platform and brings together about 190 companies and organizations from 12 countries. [1]

## Hydrogen production

Twelve stacks can be combined into one 5 MW-class polymer electrolyte membrane electrolyzer module. It can produce approximately 700 metric tons (772 US tons) of hydrogen per year. According to the group, the modular architecture can scale to hundreds of megawatts. [1]

A 1 MW-class containerized demonstration facility is operating in Gwangju. Additional demonstration projects are being pursued in Boryeong, Buan and Jeju. [1]

Hyundai is also presenting waste-to-hydrogen solutions centered on HTWO Energy Cheongju, where organic waste is converted into hydrogen. Other projects include a biogas-based hydrogen production facility in Paju and locally tailored initiatives in Indonesia. [1] A Saemangeum concept links solar power and electrolysis with data centers, a robotics manufacturing plant and a hydrogen city concept. [1]

## Refueling robot and fuel cells

Hyundai is giving the first demonstration of its Automatic Charging Robot-Hydrogen (ACR-H) for commercial vehicles. At the exhibit, the system automatically refuels a fuel cell electric cleaning truck. The robot is designed to reduce repetitive refueling tasks for drivers. [1]

Also debuting is an enhanced-durability fuel cell system for commercial vehicles. Hyundai said improved cells and key components strengthen stack durability, supporting reliability during extended operation and long-distance driving. [1]

The Bluelink Uptime Care fleet management system lets operators track vehicle operation and component conditions. Its functions include abnormality diagnostics, preventive maintenance and real-time alerts. [1]

The mobility display also includes the 2027 NEXO SUV, a hydrogen-powered locomotive model, a flat-type fuel cell module and a development model of the ELEC CITY Fuel Cell low-floor intercity bus. Ride programs with an enhanced UNIVERSE Fuel Cell coach and the New XCIENT Fuel Cell tractor are available to designated industry participants and media. [1]
